Buying guide & FAQ
How are your prices set?
My originals are priced based on area. The smaller Stillness panels are priced at the same rate as Within and Here. Prices are the same for everyone, wherever you buy. They only ever go up: when a release sells out, the rate rises for the next one, so nobody who bought earlier is undercut.
Do you ever offer discounts?
No. My prices are the same for everyone, wherever you buy: online, at exhibitions or at Open Studios. I don't hold sales or offer discounts. Prints are released in numbered editions whose price rises in steps as they sell, and the steps are always shown upfront. If you'd like to spread the cost of an original, just ask about paying in instalments.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. You can spread the cost of an original over three monthly payments, with no interest or fees. I'll reserve the painting for you and deliver it once the last payment is made. Ask about instalments
What is "oil on aluminium"?
I paint in oils on aluminium composite panels primed with gesso. The surface is harder and smoother than canvas, which suits fine detail. The panel is rigid and light, won't sag the way canvas can, and hangs without a frame.
How do I hang it?
Each painting arrives ready to hang, with a hidden aluminium sub-frame fixed to the back, so it sits neatly off the wall with no frame needed.
Will it look like the photos?
I photograph every painting carefully, but screens vary. If you'd like more photos, or a video of a particular painting, please just ask. You also have 14 days after delivery to change your mind.
How is it delivered?
Free delivery to mainland Great Britain, either by hand or by insured courier in a made-to-measure crate. The painting is my responsibility until it reaches you. For other UK addresses, I'll quote delivery before you pay. Originals are dispatched within 15 working days, and I'll agree a delivery date with you. Worldwide shipping is quoted on request.
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to cancel. For originals, I arrange an insured courier collection; you pay the cost of the return (up to £340 within mainland Great Britain), and I'll confirm the exact cost before booking.
What comes with it?
A certificate of authenticity signed by me, a care card, and a handwritten note.
What's the difference between an original and a print?
An original is the painting itself: one of one, oil paint on a panel, with every mark made by hand. A print is a high-quality reproduction, signed and numbered by me, in an edition of 30 that's never reprinted.
Can I see a painting in person?
Yes, at exhibitions, and I plan to show paintings at Cambridge Open Studios in July. Please sign up to receive notice of any upcoming exhibitions. Get the first look
